Situated next to the iconic Smithfield Market, in the heart of London, St Bart’s Brewery provides an incredible location for your post wedding ceremony partying. Overlooking St Paul’s and with a variety of urban backdrops for your wedding photos (including a private garden for your exclusive use), St Bart’s Brewery is worth adding to your prospective wedding venue list.
It’s not just the exterior that makes St Bart’s one of the best London LGBTQ Wedding venues; inside there are three areas that can either be hired individually or together to ensure exclusive use on your special day. In addition to the main downstairs bar area, there is the upper mezzanine featuring a balcony that overlooks the lower floor, and a Lounge Bar providing a smaller and quieter seating and dining space.
Family run and independently owned by the team behind Balfour Winery, St Bart’s is known for serving a vast range of craft beers, speciality spirits and award-winning and prides itself on providing an exquisite dining and drinking experience. Should you choose to host your wedding reception at St Bart’s, you’ll be invited to a tasting experience, to select your dream wedding breakfast from a menu that focuses on fresh, seasonal and locally produced ingredients and British classics.
Whilst you cannot hold your wedding ceremony at St Bart’s Brewery, it is conveniently located close to Islington Town Hall and a range of other ceremony-only venues.
The historic St Bart’s Brewery (built in the 1880s), has a distinctly industrial feel with its wooden flooring, iron finishings and high ceilings. It can be configured in any of number of ways depending on your guest numbers and the vibe of your wedding day, and there is space for the speeches and cake cutting to take place before you are entertained by a band or DJ on the stage. All these traditions (if you choose to partake in them) can be enjoyed by your guests as they look down from the mezzanine balcony. The bar closes at 1am and your guests must leave by 2am. This gives you hours and hours to drink, dance and be merry.
As a result, St Bart’s Brewery combines all the elements that make a wedding reception special – fine dining, exquisite wines and drinks plus space to party – with a really relaxed and informal pub feel. So, if you’re not wanting to hire a space that is overtly fluffy, floral and feminine (as can be the case with many traditional wedding venues), St Bart’s Brewery will be a breath of fresh air.
You’ll also be assigned a wedding planner / coordinator to help create your day, and because St Bart’s can also be hired for corporate and other private events, the team have an ability to think outside the box and not be limited by a narrow idea of how your wedding party can unfold. The team at St Bart’s Brewery continually receive glowing reviews for their friendliness and helpful attitude.
Exclusive use hire of St Bart’s Brewery can accommodate up to 120 seated guests or 200 standing guests, which means you are welcome to invite additional guests to your evening reception following your wedding breakfast. Exclusive hire of the venue features the use of the main bar area, lounge, upper-level mezzanine, and the Balfour Bar as an additional bar space.
No accommodation is available onsite but there are a range of nearby places to stay including, Fox & Anchor, Malmaison London, Premier Inn London Farringdon, and The Montcalm at The Brewery London City.
