Wedding Photography London

Congratulations on your engagement

Planning your dream wedding is such an exciting time and being both a creative London wedding photographer and a self-confessed hopeless romantic in equal parts, I can’t wait to hear about all of the exciting ideas you have planned for your special day. I believe that your wedding day should be totally centred on celebrating what makes you such an awesome couple, and I am passionate about being one of the few wedding photographers who really gets to know you and understand what makes you such a perfect pair, before I start ferociously snapping away.

With many years’ experience of delivering professional wedding photography across London and the UK, I’m here to ensure that stunningly beautiful wedding photos can be captured without you feeling awkward and uncomfortable and without you ever having to step outside of your comfort zone. Whilst you focus on enjoying all of the love and laughter of your wedding day with friends and family, I will combine my documentary wedding photography style, with natural and minimally posed romantic pictures of you as a couple, along with super speedy group shots to keep those aunts and grandparents happy.

You can relax knowing that you haven’t booked a wedding photographer who makes the day all about them, barks orders or adds a layer of unnecessary stress to your wedding celebrations. It’s an absolute privilege to be a London wedding photographer, and my visibility throughout your wedding day is totally dictated by you. Want me to blend into the background and take loads of reportage style photographs? Not a problem, I love snapping those “OMG when did they do that?” moments. Prefer me to adopt my stern teacher voice and round up the tipsy guests for their group shots? Easily done too. Every wedding is unique (whether in London or further afield) and so it’s important I tailor my wedding photography approach to meet the needs of each wonderful couple I shoot.

Photography Unique to You

Get the best from your London wedding photographer

A little pre-wedding planning can really help ensure every aspect of your London wedding is beautifully photographed the way you want it to be. To capture the best possible photography, wedding timelines and checklists are things I strongly advise sharing with me before the day (don’t worry, I provide these in your welcome pack). Knowing when and what photos you would like captured throughout the wedding day, helps me to prioritise the images that will resonate most with you.

When it comes to providing stunning and timeless photography, weddings are the perfect occasion to capture tearful reactions, laugh-out-loud moments and your loved ones in all of their finery. I am always changing my mind about my favourite part of wedding photography; sometimes it’s crafting night shots with the wow factor, other times it’s documenting the emotional speeches. However, I feel that the best wedding photographers will also make sure that they know which memories are most important to you. Is your wedding jewellery a family heirloom? Might this be the last chance to capture Uncle Jim’s spicy dance moves? The more we get to know each other, the more photographs I can capture that truly tell the story of your day and your of family. Couples often thank me for capturing moments so fleeting they missed them on the day, and every page of their wedding albums are filled with memories that will last beyond their own lifetime.

As your wedding photographer, I do everything I can to ensure that your London wedding goes smoothly. Alongside my camera kit, I always pack my ‘Peace of Mind’ pack which contains everything from cotton reel and combs to plasters and paracetamol, so that little hiccups do not prevent you from remaining relaxed and feeling on top of the world.

When browsing the work of London wedding photographers, look closely at the images in their portfolio and ask yourself if you can see you featuring alongside the couples featured. A wedding photographer who showcases a diverse range of couples in a diverse range of wedding venues is far more likely to treat you as individuals and involve you in the creative process. I firmly believe that my role as your London wedding photographer is to work alongside you to provide the best wedding photography experience possible and to not simply stick you in generic poses that do not reflect your personal dynamic.

I guarantee that you will feel amazing on your wedding day; not just because you’ll be dressed to impress and get to marry the love of your life, but also because with me as your London wedding photographer, you won’t feel any pressure to conform to someone’s else’s idea of what a couple should or shouldn’t look like on their special day. The UK wedding industry can sometimes make us believe that we all have to be young, skinny and blonde to be worthy of looking good in wedding photographs and that’s simply not true. I love when couples from all backgrounds, identities and ethnicities get in touch about me photographing them in a way that is beautiful, yet still real and authentic. Being a predominantly documentary wedding photographer means that I capture you naturally as you enjoy basking in that newly married glow. Being yourself makes you perfect, and we don’t need to change anything about you as you plan your dream day. Saying that, if you have any lumps or bumps you feel self-conscious about, please be honest and open with me and I can ensure we capture you in a way that showcases all your best features and minimises any perceived flaws.

For me, being a London wedding photographer is not about focussing on being award winning or impressing fellow wedding photographers, and more about creating timeless wedding photography that you can look back on for years to come. No award winning wedding photography image has meaning unless it captures the love and emotion of your day, and didn’t involve you feeling stressed and uncomfortable. The reviews from my lovely couples always mean more to me than any other industry accolade, and I love that as a full-time wedding photographer, I can help people to enjoy being photographed in way that makes them see how uniquely aweome they truly are.

Whilst I predominantly refer to providing London wedding photography, I always love to travel further afield to capture your UK wedding and am more than happy to photograph destination weddings. Even if you are not based in London, please do get in touch if you are looking for a laidback photographer who is willing to travel and we can discuss capturing the best wedding photographs for your special day, regardless of your venue location. If you’re getting married, I’m already getting excited to meet you so contact me now and we may find that we are the perfect photographic fit. I can’t wait to hear from you.

Frequently Asked Questions

DO YOU DO VIDEOGRAPHY AS WELL?

No.  I have spent many years learning and developing my photographic skills and continue to grow and incorporate new ideas and techniques year on year. Specialising purely in photography enables me to deliver a high-quality service and focus on delivering images that truly reflect the individuality of the couples I am lucky enough to work with. I know a variety of excellent videographers who I am always happy to recommend and work alongside on the day. There are some photographers who offer to film all or part of your day, in addition to providing photographic coverage; please do ask to see examples of their work beforehand to ensure that this a genuine element of their skillset and not simply a way of them securing or up- selling your booking.

DO YOU JUST DO GAY / LGBTQ WEDDINGS?

As a gay man it’s incredible that I can now capture weddings for members of the LGBTQ community and I’m lucky enough to be able to say that I am shooting more LGBTQ weddings every year. I also feel strongly that it is really important that LGBTQ couples find it easy to identify and book inclusive wedding suppliers for their special day as the wedding industry in general is a little bit slow when it comes to embracing and celebrating diversity. I therefore make a conscious effort to ensure that all prospective clients know instantly that I run a business based on inclusion and welcoming all members of society.

Does this mean I don’t shoot or don’t enjoy shooting straight couples? Absolutely not!! Who you love, how old you are, what you look like or what your faith is have no impact on the customer service you receive from me. As I have said elsewhere, all I ask from my couples is to be 100% themselves so I can beautifully capture who you are and not who you think you should be.

Everyone is welcome and will be made to feel so.

HOW DO WE BOOK AND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Hooray! That’s my favourite question to be asked. Booking is very straightforward, and can all be done online. Once you have decided that I’m the man with the cam for you, I will send you three documents; an invoice, a booking form, and a wedding contract. Once the invoice has been paid, the booking form completed, and the contract signed it’s official! I’m all yours for the date of your wedding.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE ILL ON THE DAY?

I have been in the industry long enough to know a great collection of professional photographers in my area who are happy to be contacted at the drop of a hat, should I not be available on the day. I will endeavour to find a replacement of a similar style and approach. It takes a lot to keep me from a wedding though (no man-flu fears here).

HAVE YOU PHOTOGRAPHED AT OUR VENUE BEFORE?

I have photographed at many venues across London and the UK but if I have yet to shoot at your wedding venue that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Photographing a venue for the first time allows me to see things with fresh eyes and come up with creative ways to work within the grounds and buildings. I always love to visit new venues with my couples beforehand to plan where we can take some stunning images and come up with lots of exciting shot ideas.  Do not let lack of venue experience put you off booking a photographer that in all other ways seems perfect for you.
