If you’re looking for a Butley Priory wedding photographer who understands how to capture quiet luxury and real emotion — welcome, you’re in the right place.
This editorial shoot at the beautiful Butley Priory in Suffolk was filled with everything I love about wedding photography: thoughtful details, soft light, and a couple whose connection was utterly sincere. As someone who photographs a lot of introverted, emotionally attuned couples, Butley Priory felt like the perfect setting – elegant without being ostentatious, intimate without feeling small.
It was an honour to photograph this shoot, and I’m thrilled to share it’s also being featured on Love My Dress, one of the UK’s leading wedding blogs.
Nestled in the Suffolk countryside, Butley Priory is a former Augustinian monastery with soaring arches, historic stonework, and an atmosphere that feels equal parts sacred and serene. It’s no surprise that so many couples fall in love with it.
As a Butley Priory wedding photographer , I was inspired by the way this venue catches the light – soft through the gothic windows, golden across the courtyard, dappled under the trees. It’s ideal for couples who want to embrace quiet moments without ever compromising on elegance.
Whether you’re planning a relaxed countryside celebration or something more modern and editorial, Butley Priory offers a perfect blend of character, calm and understated grandeur.
This shoot was inspired by couples who value presence over performance — those who care more about emotional resonance than putting on an act or performing for the camera. From the personalised vow books, painterly florals, every choice was made with feeling in mind.
The fashion focussed on bringing a cool, city aesthetic to this calm country venue. The tablescape felt like an intimate dinner at home, just with the dial turned up ever so gently. Every detail whispered luxury, but in a way that felt accessible, human and deeply personal.
When it comes to portraits, I believe in space.
Space to breathe. To whisper. To giggle. To feel.
That’s what we created at Butley Priory. From gentle walks beneath the cloisters to quiet moments tucked into ivy-lined doorways, the portraits were as much about creating calm as they were about creating art. This is something I deeply believe in: that you don’t need to perform or pose perfectly to be photographed beautifully.
As a Butley Priory wedding photographer, I know this venue gives couples the time and privacy they need to feel like themselves which, in turn, makes the photos feel true and timeless.
If you’re planning a wedding at Butley Priory and looking for a Butley Priory wedding photographer who will help you feel calm, confident, and completely yourself I’d love to talk.
I approach every wedding with gentle direction, emotional depth, and a deep respect for the quiet, unspoken things that make your relationship unique.
You don’t need to over pose. You don’t need to perform.
You just need to be present and I’ll take care of the rest.
This shoot would not have been possible without the creative talents of these incredible wedding suppliers.
